Ready to ride the wind and waves? Whether you're a complete beginner or have dabbled in water sports before, our beginner kitesurfing lessons are tailored just for you! The beginners course consists of 3 lessons or stages; safety/kite control, body dragging and water introduction. The 3 lessons can be individually booked and spread out over a desired timeframe. Want to learn faster? If the weather permits it, you can try our Zero to Hero Package and complete the 3 stages in 1 day! Beginner kitesurfing Lessons

what to expect!

  First Lesson: Equipment, Safety & Kite Control  

1. introduction & basics

  • Understand how to read the weather, the importance of wind window and possible hazards.

  • Get hands-on with the kite, control bar, harness, and board.

  • Understand the purpose and function of each piece of equipment.

2. safety first

  • Learn essential safety procedures and emergency protocols.

  • Discover how to use quick releases and master basic self-rescue techniques.

3. trainer kite session

  • Take your first steps with a trainer kite on land.

  • Practice basic kite control, steering, and power management.

  • Launching and landing the kite safely.

  Second Lesson: Body Dragging   

4. water adventure begins

  • Quick review of equipment usage, safety guidelines, and basic kite control.

  • Transition to the water with confidence. Entering and exiting the water with the kite.

  • Experience the power of the kite in the water through body dragging exercises. Body dragging is an essential safety exercise to use when you have lost your board and need to recover it whilst in the water.

  • Upwind and downwind body dragging, changing directions and body dragging with the board.

  • Self Rescue procedures.

  Third Lesson: Water Introduction   

5. board basics

  • Brief recap of equipment usage, safety guidelines, and basic kite control.

  • Familiarise yourself with the kitesurfing board and foot straps.

  • Understand the safety rules and power strokes required for a water start.

  • Practice water starts without the kite to get comfortable on the board.

  • Practice adjusting the kite to control speed and direction.

  • Learn how to come to a controlled stop by depowering the kite.

6. ride the waves​​

  • Combine board and kite skills for the water start.

  • Learn to ride in both directions, control speed, and ride upwind.

It's important to remember that this is just a basic outline and the actual lesson may be adjusted based on the your progress and conditions on the day of the lesson. Everyone student progresses at different speeds and most importantly, we want to ensure that you're comfortable, safe and having fun throughout the learning process! 

After you have completed your beginners course,  you are free to fly solo and practice the basics on your own! However there is still so much to learn and if you wish to progress your skills further you can sign up to our intermediate classes for faster advancement.
